My Story
Basketball will always will be my first love. The game has brought me the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Over the last several years I have noticed the overall skill level across all levels of basketball has deteriorated. High level college and even the NBA players are lagging in fundamental skills.

Instead of practice and skill development, there is now an emphasis placed on how many games a player can play. The days of acquiring the best skills to perform at elite levels has been replaced by a battle of attrition or how many games you can survive.

After years of coaching youth basketball and watching the skill level of the game I love decrease, I realized I wanted to make a change and help players of all ages realize & exceed their potential.

Growing up, I was not lucky enough to be an ultra-athletic, naturally gifted basketball player. I fell in love with the game at an early age watching the Celtics of the 80’s and the powerhouse Big East Conference – those are some of the best times in basketball history. Early in my life I realized in order for me to get to that level I needed to have a better understanding of the game and really pay attention to the little details that others missed. It worked! I first learned how to practice appropriately. I practiced my skills in game-type situations and this honing of my craft took my game to the next level. While at BC, during the late 90s and early 2000s, my skill set was at an all-time high! This led me to the professional ranks in both Europe & here in the U.S.

After retiring from the game I love and spending time in the “real world,” I decided I want to share my passion and skill set with others to improve the game for the next generation. Welcome to Basketball By 45!
